In this release, Claude Watermark Remover begins with directly observable hidden text artifacts that can travel with copied content. The current detector covers Unicode and formatting characters such as zero-width spaces, word joiners, bidirectional controls and Unicode tag characters. This is one category of evidence, not a definition of every possible watermark.
Claude Watermark Remover does not treat every unusual code point as proof of AI generation. Some characters support emoji, connected writing systems or legitimate layout behavior. For that reason, the report shows the category and position of each finding and asks the user to review the evidence before cleaning.
Claude Watermark Remover accepts pasted content and common plain-text formats such as TXT, Markdown, CSV, JSON, HTML, XML and LOG files up to 2 MB. Detection runs as the text changes, counts characters, flags classified code points and calculates how many would be removed by the selected cleanup mode.
Every Claude Watermark Remover finding includes a human-readable type, its Unicode notation and its character position. That evidence makes the tool useful for debugging text that looks identical on screen but behaves differently in search, source control, publishing systems, prompts, code blocks or data-processing pipelines.
Claude Watermark Remover starts in conservative mode. Conservative cleanup removes stronger invisible controls while preserving contextual joiners and variation selectors that may affect emoji or written scripts. The interface shows the cleaned output beside the source so that changes can be checked before anything is copied or downloaded.
Strict mode tells Claude Watermark Remover to remove every classified code point. It is useful when a known workflow requires plain text, but it can alter visual presentation. The cleaner therefore keeps strict cleanup opt-in and clearly states the number of removed characters rather than presenting the change as automatically safe.
The core Claude Watermark Remover workflow runs entirely in browser JavaScript. Text is not submitted to an analysis API, stored in a database or associated with an account. Closing or refreshing the page clears the working content because the tool does not create a server-side history of submitted drafts.
Local processing makes Claude Watermark Remover appropriate for unpublished writing, internal notes and source snippets that should not be sent to a third-party detector. Users should still follow their own device and browser security policies, but the utility minimizes exposure by avoiding content uploads in the first place.

Claude Watermark Remover cannot currently detect Anthropic's unpublished statistical watermark with vendor-level certainty. Anthropic has announced embedded text watermarks, but the official third-party detection mechanism remains unavailable. The tool therefore limits its report to Unicode evidence that can be observed directly in the supplied text.
A clean Claude Watermark Remover report does not prove human authorship, and a flagged character does not prove that Claude created the content. It is an inspection and cleanup utility, not an authorship judge. Results should be combined with provenance records, editorial context and any future official detector guidance.
Claude Watermark Remover works best when the report informs a human decision. Keep the original text, examine each finding and choose the least destructive cleanup mode. The interface makes otherwise hidden text evidence visible, but it does not replace official provenance systems, disclosure requirements or responsible editorial judgment.
Anthropic announced embedded text watermarks and signed C2PA provenance metadata, but the technical detection method is still forthcoming.
